Come hang out with other teens! Canopy Support Services invites you to join us for a Teen Chill & Chat event. This is a fantastic opportunity for your teen to connect with peers, practice social skills, and have a great time. Designed for children aged 12-17 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), this event promises a fun and supportive environment.

During the session, your teen will have the chance to participate in a variety of games and activities, and there will be plenty of opportunities to chat and make new friends. It's a perfect setting for teens to relax, socialize, and enjoy themselves.

• Location: Main office @ 150 O’Carroll Ave, Peterborough

• Drop-Off Instructions: Parents and caregivers should park in the upper/lower parking lot, make their way to the front of the building and drop off their teen at the main doors. An Autism Services rep will be there to meet the teens, introduce themselves, and get the fun started!

Join Canopy Support Services staff for a warm and welcoming Coffee Chat designed especially for parents and caregivers of children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). 🌟

Connect over a cup of coffee with other parents and caregivers in a casual and supportive environment. This social event is an opportunity to share experiences, provide guidance, and offer support to one another. Whether you're looking to exchange tips, discuss challenges, or simply enjoy some conversation with others who understand, this is the perfect chance to connect. 💕

For those interested, there will also be opportunities to learn about updates to the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) and the range of services Canopy offers. However, the focus remains on fostering a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where caregivers can come together, chat, and create a sense of community. 🤝

Do you need help submitting your receipts to the Access OAP family portal? Look no further! Join us for a fun and supportive drop-in session where we can assist you with all your receipt submission needs. 🧾✨

What to Expect:

• Receipt Submission Help: Our friendly team is here to guide you through the process of uploading your receipts to the Access OAP family portal. Whether you're new to the system or just need a little extra help, we've got you covered!

• Q&A with Experts: Have questions about OAP or our services? This is your chance to ask Canopy's Social Worker or Family Support Coordinator anything you'd like. We're here to provide answers and support.

• Technology Assistance: Need to use a computer or other technology to submit your receipts? No problem! We have the tools you need to get the job done.

Being a sibling to someone with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be a unique journey filled with special experiences, feelings, and moments of learning. That's why Canopy Support Services is hosting a special Sibling Social event just for you! This evening is designed to provide a supportive and fun environment where siblings of children with ASD can connect, learn, and focus on themselves.

During this event, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Learn About Autism: Gain a better understanding of your sibling's condition.

• Support Your Sibling: Discover ways to support your sibling while taking care of your own feelings.

• Self-Care Activities: Enjoy activities that help you recharge and have fun.

• Share Experiences: Connect with other siblings, share your experiences, and feel understood.

Important Details:

• Drop-Off Instructions: Parents should park in the upper parking lot, proceed towards the main doors where an Autism Services representative will greet you, introduce themselves, and guide your child into the building.

• Parent Options: Parents are welcome to wait in the waiting room or a quiet space within Canopy, or drop off their children for an hour.

• Participant Note: This workshop is for siblings of children with ASD, not for children/youth with ASD themselves. It is limited to 6 participants so please register today to save your spot!

• OAP Number: An OAP number is required for all in-person events (please use the sibling’s OAP number).
