Designed for children aged 12-17 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), this event promises a fun and supportive environment.
During the session, your teen will have the chance to participate in a variety of games and activities, and there will be plenty of opportunities to chat and make new friends. It's a perfect setting for teens to relax, socialize, and enjoy themselves.

Join Canopy Support Services for an engaging and interactive social skills group designed specifically for children aged 6-12 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This in-person event will take place at our Cobourg office, providing a safe and supportive environment for your child to learn and grow. 🌟
During this one-hour session, your child will have the opportunity to interact with peers, play games, and develop essential social skills such as conversation techniques, sharing, and tolerating others. While the children are engaged in the group activities, parents have the option to stay on-site. Refreshments will be provided, and parents can ask questions, meet with a Coordinator, and connect with other parents of same-aged children. Our experienced staff will guide the activities, ensuring each child feels included and supported. 🤝🎨

This is a fantastic opportunity for your teen to connect with peers, practice social skills, and have a great time. Designed for children aged 12-17 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and registered with the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), this event promises a fun and supportive environment.
During the session, your teen will have the chance to participate in a variety of games and activities, and there will be plenty of opportunities to chat and make new friends. It's a perfect setting for teens to relax, socialize, and enjoy themselves.

That's why Canopy Support Services is hosting a special Sibling Social event just for you! This evening is designed to provide a supportive and fun environment where siblings of children with ASD can connect, learn, and focus on themselves.
During this event, you'll have the opportunity to:
Learn About Autism: Gain a better understanding of your sibling's condition.
Support Your Sibling: Discover ways to support your sibling while taking care of your own feelings.
Self-Care Activities: Enjoy activities that help you recharge and have fun.
Share Experiences: Connect with other siblings, share your experiences, and feel understood.

Join us for a 8 week group focusing on social skills and making friends! The group lessons and programming will be clinically supervised by a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA).
Skills Focus:
Starting a conversation

Maintaining a conversation
Sharing information on interests
Understanding non-verbal communication
How to make and keep friends
Group Details:
This group is intended for children with Autism between the ages of 8-12 years old.
Group begins on Wednesday, April 9th from 6-7pm and runs for 8 weeks.
Each week will be a 1 hour lesson for caregivers and children.
This group takes place in person at our Peterborough office.
EXCITING NEWS: We know the cost of skill-building groups for children/youth with autism and their parents/guardians can be significant. Given the clinical oversight and expertise involved, we recognize the investment required. To support families in accessing these valuable services, we are grateful to be able to offer a one-time reduced price for this group, thanks to recent donations to our Canopy Cares Support Fund! PEERS for Adolescents is a 14-week evidence-based social skills program for adolescents in middle and high school who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection.
Participants will learn:

Appropriate use of humor
Handling disagreements
Electronic communication
Being a good sport
Organizing get-togethers
Handling teasing and bullying
Changing Reputations
Group Details:
This group is for teens with a diagnosis of Autism, aged 13-17 years old.
This 14 week group begins Thursday, March 20th 2025, and runs until Thursday, June 19th, 2025.
Each week the group will take place from 6-7pm and participants are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations and practice these skills during group socialization activities.
Parents attend separate sessions simultaneously and are taught how to assist adolescents in making and keeping friends (parent participation Is required).
This group takes place in person at our Peterborough office.
